Junior judokas put up a fight

Goole Judo Club and Selby-based Judo Spirit Academy took a team of four judokas over to the English Institute of Sport earlier this month. The event was hugely attended this year, having 735 entries, with some of the clubs’ judokas being in the largest categories of each day. East Riding Leisure have confirmed that the new six-lane bowling alley coming to the refurbished leisure centre is to be called Dockyard Bowl. A vote was held on Facebook, asking the public for help to name the new state-of-the-art addition to the new Goole Hub. Goole man arrested after police execute £53million drugs bust

A man from Goole has been arrested after officers from the Regional Organised Crime Unit and UK Border Force seized 536 kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of £53million. Household water bills set to rise by more than five per cent

Local flood defence works hampered by wintry weather

Bad weather has slowed progress on a £17m project set to strengthen flood defences on Dutch River near Goole which will help protect around 10,000 properties. Visitors to wards and clinical departments at Hull Royal Infirmary are being asked to wear face masks to protect patients from winter illnesses. Santa set to swing by Hook

Hospital buys therapy chair with donated funds

Patients at Goole Hospital are benefiting from a new therapy chair thanks to a fundraising walk which raised almost £3,000. Boxing Club adopts CIO status

A Goole boxing club which has been punching above its weight since opening its doors has become an independent charity.
