Vic Club to become church

March 7, 2024

A former working men’s club in Goole is set to become a Christian Church after a planning application for change of use was approved.

Plans to convert the Victoria Club on Carter Street into a place of worship were approved by East Riding of Yorkshire Council on February 22. The building is set to become home to Oasis House Church, a Brazilian Ministry founded in February 2023, and had been based at Revive Church in Mariners Street. The ministry was founded by Pastor, Fabio Eduardo, who has been living in Goole and serving as a Pastor for 19 years, after moving here from Brazil. Speaking about opening their own church, Fabio said: “It’s amazing to have our own venue, it will allow us to do so much more. “We currently have our services in two languages, Portuguese and English, but we are planning to launch an English only service later this year. We are also planning to do more youth activities and courses. I have been dreaming of this moment for over 15 years.” The first service at the church is due to take place on Saturday, March 16, and more information about the church, including service times, can be found by visiting: https://oasishousechurch.co.uk/
