The Humber region has another Mobile Testing Unit opening this week in Goole. It will be at Goole Hospital Car Park on Woodland Avenue for three days starting Thursday, April 30.
As with sites at the Humber Bridge and Grimsby, the MTU will be for all essential workers including NHS and social care staff with symptoms and members of their household. However, under new government guidelines, the site will now be available to further categories as outlined below:
• anyone over 65 with symptoms
• anyone with symptoms whose work cannot be done from home (eg. construction workers, shop workers, emergency plumbers and delivery drivers)
Anyone who has symptoms of coronavirus that lives with people in any of the categories above can also book a test online.
The site will be open at the following times, for people with booked appointments only:
Goole Hospital Car Park, Woodland Avenue, Goole, DN14 6RX
Thurs 30 April 1030 – 1600
Friday 1 May 1030 – 1600
Saturday 2 May 1030 – 1600
The mobile site is not open to the general public, but has been established in conjunction with the Humber Bridge Regional Testing Centre for those key workers and over 65s who are self-isolating because they or a household member has Covid-19 symptoms.
Over the coming weeks, more mobile units will open in other locations in the Humber region. Exact sites and dates will be released in due course.
All workers can be put forward for testing by their employer if they have those arrangements in place, but can now also book it themselves by using the self-referral route below:

“The addition of another Mobile Testing Unit in Goole, so soon after the Grimsby location, is pushing up the numbers tested each day in our region even further and giving health partners and employers a much clearer picture of the local levels of confirmed cases.
“Again, the number of positive cases of coronavirus reported in the Humber region will naturally increase sharply over the coming days as we expand the number of tests carried out. This should not alarm anyone, it will simply allow the NHS to be better informed and prepare their staffing and resources accordingly.”
