Perfectly Imperfect Christmas Trees free at Tesco

December 3, 2025

Tesco is inviting Goole residents to embrace the magic of imperfection this Christmas by giving away free Perfectly Imperfect Christmas trees at Tesco Goole Superstore on Saturday 6th December from 10am.

From unevenly spaced branches, to leaning ever-so-slightly to the side, these wonky Christmas trees wouldn't normally make the cut to go on sale in Tesco stores but are perfectly imperfect in their own way.

With Christmas being the time of giving, Tesco is giving these Christmas trees a second chance at fulfilling their Christmas destiny. And with new research from Tesco revealing that almost a quarter (24%) of Brits pencil in the second weekend of December for putting up their Christmas tree 1, the 'perfectly imperfect' Christmas trees are perfectly timed to help the nation embrace the joy of the festive season.

Tesco's Christmas campaign this year celebrates that, for most of us, Christmas can be a little chaotic and things don't always go exactly to plan, but it's those imperfections that make it truly feel like Christmas. And when it comes to putting up the Christmas tree, it's never quite the wholesome experience romanticised in films and social media.

Over two thirds (68%) of people surveyed by Tesco agree that the thought of decorating the Christmas tree is more magical than the reality2. Four in ten will smash a bauble (40%), over a quarter of pet owners will see their trees pulled over by their furry friends (26%) and over a fifth of people will finish the decorating only to realise the lights no longer work (23%) 2. And claiming the top spot on the nation's festive fail list is untangling the never-ending string of lights (46%2) - yet it's these small mishaps that make us realise that's what makes it Christmas!

In fact, 87% of people agree that Christmas doesn't need to be 'perfect' to be special and 74% believe that it is the little imperfect moments that really make it feel like Christmas 2.

Available for one day only, the wonky Christmas trees are a reminder that the joy of Christmas lies not in perfection, but in togetherness and celebration.

The Christmas trees will be available to shoppers starting from 10am on 6th December at select stores nationwide whilst stocks last. Those lucky enough to pick one up are encouraged to leave a donation to Tesco's charity partners FareShare and Trussell, who are helping people facing hunger in the UK this winter and beyond.

Tesco will be offering its perfectly imperfect Christmas trees across 10 stores across the UK:

  1. Colney Hatch Extra
  2. Borehamwood Extra
  3. Hammersmith
  4. Southport Extra
  5. Goole Superstore
  6. Glossop Superstore
