The huge metal framework for the new Goole Hub has been installed.
The Goole Hub, on North Street, will provide new and enhanced leisure facilities, collocate services, and introduce new activities. The new multi-service centre will include a new learner swimming pool, ten pin bowling, a tag attack and soft play centre, library and customer service centre, an improved gym on the first floor, a relocated cafe to ground floor, a large open plan spaces to meet and socialise in and a new health suite. The approved planning application includes provision in the future for a squash court, but there is currently no funding available for this.
The Hub, funded by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, is due to be completed by the summer of 2026, opening in Goole’s Bicentenary year. Goole Town Deal is contributing £3.372 million towards the £17 million transformation. While the leisure centre is closed, the council will continue to offer a gym, group exercise classes, and health programmes at the Goole College site on Boothferry Road. (21-8-190 GT)
