Goole AFC Supporters Club has launched a fundraising night for people to let loose.

The group led by Lee Jamison, is throwing a season launch party on Saturday, July 31 at the Charter Club to rally the team’s fans for a fun night out whilst raising vital cash for the club. Ten local businesses have so far pledged their support to the cause, donating an array of prizes for the raffle, from £100 in cash to hampers and vouchers. Live entertainment, bingo and a late disco will all be held on the night. Lee said: “We have been overwhelmed with the support we have received from these small business owners. It can’t have been easy for them recently and yet so many of them have gone out of their way to contact me and offer really good prizes. We’ve got everything from a personal training session to a fish platter to bespoke garden signs to cash prizes. It’s so heart-warming to see everyone pull in the same direction. The football club’s fans are customers of the local businesses in the same way the local business customers are Goole AFC’s supporters. We really are all one and the same and we want to do our best for the community in return.”

The event is due to take place after Prime Minister Boris Johnson is anticipated to lift the final lockout restrictions. However, the venue’s windows will be open to circulate air and hand sanitising stations will be placed around the room. Lee added: “We are really keen to reach out to the local community in the name of Goole AFC and put on this party so that everyone who attends can have a great night out. “We hope the entertainment will put a smile on everyone’s face again.” So far, the raffle prizes up for grabs are £100 cash, £50 Fish to Go platter, His & Hers Pamper Hamper, £25 voucher for Church Farm Shop, £15 voucher for Brownie Queen, air-con servicing at J Petty Motors with £95, spray tan at Beach Bum Airbrush Tannings, a personal training session with Jason Evans, bespoke garden signs from Esme’s Signs and Wall Art, two hours of home cleaning from Maids of Glory, £20 cash donated by Gemini Electrical Services Yorkshire and various alcohol bottles.

The season launch party tickets can be purchased for £5 through Samantha Jamison on 07496297906 while raffle tickets are £1 each and can be purchased through the Facebook group ‘Goole AFC Fans Forum’ or from Fish To Go on the Salt and Pepper Trading Estate, or from Mal Movers at 76 Boothferry Road.

Goole AFC Supporters Club represented by Bob Haywood and Sam Gibson, presented equipment worth £331, including a fully stocked medical bag and ten Nike footballs to manager, Mike Carmody earlier this month. (24-06-13 SU)
