Care workers dress up to raise funds for a day out

September 3, 2021

A group of carers from Shamrock House care home in Goole have raised £690 to give residents at the home a special treat following the pandemic.

Eight members of staff from the home on Hook Road donned their fairy wings and took on a two-hour fancy dress sponsored walk around West Park on Saturday, August 28, to raise money for the residents. Carer, Margaret Storey explained: “We wanted to be able to organise a fun event for the residents to enjoy following the pandemic. We are hoping to be able to take them on a trip if Covid restrictions allow, or organise a fun day at the home.” The staff will also held a raffle at Hungry Horse after the walk, with the main prize being a meal for two at the pub.
