A local band is raising funds for a valuable local charity after it was burgled for the third time this year.

Alternative rock band, Sandra’s Wedding, has vowed to donate proceeds from a limited edition CD ‘Our Previous Leaf’, to The Moorlands Community Charity in Old Goole after it suffered its third blow of the year last Friday.

According to Humberside Police, the intruders broke in at 3.15am on Friday, April 30. The charity’s CEO, Jacky Crawford, explained how the burglars entered the kitchen by removing a rooftop window but were unable to get past several doors to reach the centre’s hub before the alarm sounded. “It’s horrendous”, Jacky said, “I just find it so sad that they have to target a place that helps so many people not only in Goole but lots of surrounding areas. If they knew the value that we kept on the premises they just wouldn’t do it. “It ends up disrupting the vital services that we’re trying to provide to the community.”

However, band members Joe Hodgson, Jonny Hughes and Luke Harrison have decided to direct all proceeds from ‘Our Previous Leaf’, out tomorrow, Friday April 7, to the charity that’s helped even their own families through the last several months. Lead vocalist, Joe Hodgson said: “The Moorlands has been ever present over the past year and have helped thousands of people, young and old, including members of our own families. We wanted to give a bit of something back to a good cause and we thought this would be a simple way of giving people the chance to get a big, unique slice of our music and support a brilliant cause at the same time.

“It would be great if people got involved and we could make a great amount of money for a worthy cause.” Jacky thanked the “thoughtful” group, adding: “I think it just highlights that you can get burgled but then get people like the boys form Sandra’s Wedding and that really raises your spirits about working in the community. “We have a lot of support and it’s only a few that cause us a lot of stress. “The majority of people are fully supportive of us and will do anything to try to support the community. “It’s just brilliant. I think it’s lovely and such a kind thing to do.” ‘Our Previous Leaf’ features a compilation of tracks from the band’s three previous albums, one EP and several singles released over the last four years, as well as their latest single, “Aretha Franklin”, released last week. The CD is available to purchase at sandraswedding.bandcamp.com from Friday, April 7, and the music video for their latest single, shot in Howden, can be found at https://youtu.be/-Q1EMQ4i0Q8. Sandra’s Wedding will be supporting The Monochrome Set on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at The New Adelphi, Hull. For tickets, visit SeeTickets.com or contact the band at sandrasweddingband@gmail.com.

Proceeds from the limited edition CD, Our Previous Leaf, will go to The Moorlands Community Charity. (06-05-15 SU)
