We are proud to be the area’s only locally-owned newspapers. The papers are produced by Chronicle Publications Limited – a small publishing company, committed to providing the best services for our customers and readers in and around the Goole and Selby areas.
The Goole Times was first printed in 1853. The title was purchased by its current owners in 1987, having previously been owned by Yorkshire Post Weekly Newspapers and East Midland Allied Press, to name just a few.
On the back of a very successful Goole Times, Chronicle Publications launched the Selby Post in November 1999. The paper went from strength to strength, and in August 2013 the company acquired the Selby Times newspaper, which was then owned by Johnston Press. The two titles were merged under the title of the Selby Times.
Behind both newspapers is a dedicated team, determined to provide a quality product for its readers to enjoy and advertisers to benefit from.
We have offices in the heart of Selby and Goole, keeping that all important day-to-day contact with our readers. The result is the two newspapers you see weekly - packed full of news, features and photographs.
